Eine der größten Herausforderungen beim Französischlernen ist das Zählen auf Französisch. Wenn du eine neue Sprache lernst, ist das Zählen normalerweise eines der ersten Dinge, die du beherrschen solltest. Das Erlernen von Zahlen in einer Fremdsprache ist besonders wichtig, weil Zahlen in vielen Alltagssituationen vorkommen. Ob du dein Alter angibst oder dich in Geschäften oder Restaurants unterhältst, du solltest die Zahlen auf Französisch so schnell wie möglich beherrschen.

Tipps zum Lernen französischer Zahlen

Um die Bildung von Zahlen auf Französisch zu beherrschen, ist es eine gute Idee, sich zuerst die französischen Zahlen von 1 bis 20 einzuprägen . Du musst sie einfach auswendig lernen, denn dafür gibt es keine Regel. Ab 21 fügst du "et un" (übersetzt: "und eins") hinzu, so dass aus 21 zum Beispiel "vingt et un" wird. Alle anderen Zahlen zwischen 20 und 60 werden gebildet, indem man die Zehner lernt und die Einser mit einem Bindestrich verbindet (33 heißt zum Beispiel "trente-trois").

Das wird so ausgesprochen, wie es geschrieben wird; die beiden Zahlen werden einfach nacheinander gesagt.

Für die Zehner 70, 80 und 90 musst du dich an besondere Regeln gewöhnen. Die 70 wird durch 60 plus 10 gebildet (daher "soixante-dix"), die 80 durch viermal 20 (daher "quatre-vingts"), während die 90 durch viermal 20 plus 10 (daher "quatre-vingt-dix") gebildet wird.

Bindestriche in französischen Zahlen

Vor 1990 war die Verwendung von Bindestrichen in französischen Zahlen etwas uneinheitlich - während einige Zahlen sie verwendeten, taten andere das nicht. Mit der Rechtschreibreform von 1990 (rectifications orthographiques de 1990) wurde diese Regel vereinfacht: Jeder Teil einer zusammengesetzten Zahl muss nun durch Bindestriche verbunden werden.

Beispiele:

  • 22 → vingt-deux
  • 61 → soixante-et-un
  • 99 → quatre-vingt-dix-neuf

Diese Regel gilt für alle Zahlen bis zu einer Million. Allerdings werden ältere Schreibweisen ohne vollständige Silbentrennung in der formellen oder traditionellen Schreibweise immer noch akzeptiert, sodass du in Büchern und Dokumenten beide Formen finden kannst.

Kommas und Punkte in französischen Zahlen

Die französische Zeichensetzung in Zahlen funktioniert anders als die englische. Im Englischen trennt ein Komma Tausender und ein Punkt gibt Dezimalzahlen an: 5.000,25.
Im Französischen ist es umgekehrt: 5 000,25.

Wichtige Hinweise:

  • Ein Leerzeichen trennt Tausender: 300 000 000 (nicht ).
  • Ein Komma kennzeichnet Dezimalzahlen: 2,5 Euro = "2,5 Euro".

Kapitalisierungsregeln

In Wörtern werden französische Zahlen immer klein geschrieben, es sei denn, sie stehen am Anfang eines Satzes.

Beispiele:

  • quatre-vingt-dix-sept
  • deux cents soixante mille
  • Soixante-dix-neuf mille quatre cent vingt-huit (wird nur groß geschrieben, weil der Satz damit beginnt)

1.000 = mille
1.000.000 = un million

Denke daran: cent wird nur im Plural mit -s geschrieben (→ cents) und nicht von einer anderen Zahl gefolgt(deux cents), mille ändert sich nie, und million wird wie ein Substantiv behandelt(deux millions d'euros).
